THE ARTS

The Arts

At Nashoba Brooks, the arts — music, drama, and visual arts — are essential, and never extracurricular. Although many projects are integrated with other areas of learning, the arts are valued as unique routes toward excellence. Tucker Building is an entirely arts-dedicated space with spacious and fully equipped studios for art and music, and a stage/theater for dramatic and musical productions.

Excellence in the arts is a key component of the school’s mission, evidenced by student recognition. Students have received awards from the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Competition, a music competition sponsored by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Massachusetts Poetry Contest, to name a few, and students have frequent opportunities to perform, demonstrate mastery, and share successes through public arts performances. The ultimate goal, however, is personal excellence and not the prize.
