NBS Summer Intern Program

Nashoba’s Mission Statement heartily endorses the core value of life long learning and there is a special joy when school and Summer Center Alums return to contribute and learn.  In 2006, the newest incarnation of The Summer Center opened its doors to a 162 children and 18 faculty.  Since programming included such high-energy activities as Engineering, Drama, Spanish and Math/Science Enrichment, the opportunity for teaching interns was born.

In 2006, 13 interns joined the summer faculty and in 2007 the number doubled to 26.  Interns worked side by side with teachers in the Science Labs, the Art Studios and Computer classrooms. They taught skills, supervised small group activities, prepared materials and played four square at recess. The Summer Center faculty was unanimous in their support and appreciation of the 1000+ service hours contributed by this energetic and skilled group of interns in 2007.

If you are interested in learning more about the NBS Summer Intern program or The Summer Center, please contact Jan Maguire at jmaguire@nbsc.org or (978 369 4591). Summer Center 2008 begins June 23 for five weeks through July 25.  Schedules are flexible.
