THE CAMP PROGRAM


2008 Dates
Five Weeks, Monday through Friday, June 23 to July 25.

Week 1: June 23 - 27
Week 2: June 30 - July 3 *No Camp: Friday July 4
Week 3: July 7 - 11
Week 4: July 14 - 18
Week 5: July 21 - 25

The Program:

The Summer Center at Nashoba Brooks provides a menu of choices that will capture the interest of any child. Each session will focus on exploration and learning through projects, games, and hands-on activities. Courses in Math Enrichment, Physical Science, Biological Science, Technology, Fine Arts, and World Language will allow children to spend one week sampling a new topic, or multiple weeks exploring a variety of academic interests. Small class size of twelve students to one adult faculty member ensures a fulfilling experience.

The Facilities:

The Summer Center is run on the campus of Nashoba Brooks School in Concord Massachusetts. Set on a twenty-acre site, the school building is over 90,000 square feet of state of the art, air-conditioned space that includes three science labs, two computer labs, a beautiful library, dining commons, arts building, two gyms, and over two-dozen classrooms that are be used for our summer programs.

The Schedule:

A special characteristic of The Summer Center is its totally flexible weekly schedule. Families of young children may opt for a morning-only or afternoon-only program, selecting one or two weeks to participate, while other families may see full days and multiple weeks as the best option for their children. To assist working parents, an Extended Day Program will be provided each day so that a student can be on campus from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Lunch:

Children bring their own lunch and snack. The Summer Center makes every effort to be a nut product free environment.

Transportation:

The Summer Center does not provide transportation.

The Faculty:

Each faculty member at The Summer Center is an experienced, in-service teacher with appropriate skills to take on the task of building an exciting and safe learning environment for the students. All faculty are screened through the Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) system. To safeguard each child's well being while participating, a registered nurse is on site daily.

*This program must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and licensed by the local Board of Health.
