ATTENDING THE SUMMER CENTER AT NASHOBA BROOKS
CAN LOWER YOUR TAXES!
Read on!

If both parents work, you can lower your taxable income and get a tax break on caretaking costs by contributing to your company’s dependent care- flexible spending account.  You can defer up to $5000 in pre tax dollars to pay for day care of kids under the age of 13.  Day care is the key word as day programs like the Summer Center qualify while sleep away camp is a does not.

A second possibility is the Child and Dependent Care Credit.  If you make more than 43K in income, the maximum credit is 20% of $3000. worth of expenses for one child.  That’s $600 per child. Which is more than enough for you to send several of your children to the Summer Center: a bargain for under $400 for a full 9:00am – 4:00pm day of learning and fun!
